Thornsett Group Launches In Sunderland
The South Tyne & Wear House Hunter, 28th June 2007Thornsett Group launches its first development in North East England on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8, with a new show apartment at Thornlea Court in Thornhill Park, Sunderland.
Here the developer is building 28 two and three bedroom high specification apartments in Ashbrooke, a mature and prestigious residential area of tree-lined avenues, elegant Victorian terraces and discreet mews.
Thornlea Court is a modern gated development comprising 24 two-bedroom apartments and four three-bedroom penthouses with lifts to all four storeys, as well as on site dedicated parking for each apartment. This new development is just a few minutes’ walk from Sunderland city centre and its excellent transport connections.
Apartments range from 737 sq ft to 767 sq ft while the penthouses are from 1119 sq ft to 1205 sq ft. Each penthouse has a spacious terrace while the ground floor apartments have their own private gardens. The development is due for completion at the end of September 2007.
Bernadette Cunningham, director of Thornsett Group, commented: “Sunderland is undergoing a £1 billion large scale regeneration which can easily be compared with the Newcastle of the late 1980s. The city centre is rapidly changing and offers a good investment return. We are very pleased to see the launch of Thornlea Court, as the first development for Thornsett Group in the North East. I am very much looking forward to seeing the response from the local market.”
Brendan Hackett, director of Hackett Property, who is marketing the development, added: “Investment opportunities in Sunderland are comparable with those in Eastern Europe, although a far safer option because of established infrastructure networks and a defined programme of regeneration. Football is at the heart of the city. The arrival of Niall Quinn (chairman of Sunderland Football Club) and Roy Keane (Manchester United legend and new manager of Sunderland Football Club) is reaffirming Sunderland’s profile.”
Thornsett Group has a reputation for building very high quality homes with a superior specification. Thornlea Court’s apartments will feature fully fitted kitchens, overhead lighting and integrated stainless steel appliances, including a Bosch oven/hob and extractor, fridge/freezer, waste disposal unit, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The penthouses will have similar appliances plus granite worktops, Siemens oven/hob and a stainless steel microwave.
Bathrooms will be tiled and fitted with Twyford, Ideal Standard and Bathroom Store ceramics, Grohe taps and heated towel rails. Thornsett will provide electric panel heaters rather than traditional radiators to provide a clean streamlined finish which does not limit where furniture can be placed. Additionally, all apartments have telephone, television and satellite points in the reception and master bedroom and intercom entry phones.
There are two private schools within walking distance of Thornlea Court, Argyle House and Sunderland High School, as well as two state schools, St Aidan’s (Catholic), and Thornhill (Church of England).
