A new name for the New Moves arrives with the Thornsett Group launching its first development in the North East this July. The developer is building 28 two and three-bedroom apartments in Sunderland’s Ashbrooke area, whose tree-lined avenues and elegant Victorian terraces are rapidly being rediscovered by discerning house hunters.
Continuing the "Thorn" theme, the project is located five minutes walk from the city centre in Thornhill Park and christened Thornlea Court. The development is a modern gated community comprising 24 two-bedroom apartments and 4 three-bedroom penthouses. There will be lifts to all of the four storeys and dedicated parking for each apartment.
Internally, the standard apartments range from 737 sq ft to 767 sq ft and the penthouses from 1,119 sq ft and 1,205 sq ft. Each penthouse boasts a spacious terrace whilst the ground floor apartments will have private gardens. Bathrooms will be tiled and fitted with classic Twyford sanitary ware, Grohe taps and heated towel rails. Kitchens will feature overhead lighting and integrated stainless steel appliances (including Bosch oven/hob/hood, fridge freezer, waste disposal unit, dishwasher and washer/dryer). The penthouses will have similar appliances plus granite worktops, Siemens oven/hob and a stainless steel microwave.
An innovation will be the electric panel heaters, rather than traditional radiators, that will provide a clean streamlined finish which does not interfere with furniture layouts. All apartments have telephone, television and satellite points in the living area and master bedroom and an intercom entry-phone. The development is due for completion at the end of September 2007.
