A typical Chelsea terraced house in need of major refurbishment and an extension of the mansard roof. Due to major structural defects in the property, it was agreed that the entire property should be demolished and rebuilt. This was all carried out under the strict control of the Conservation Area Officer to ensure that the property matched exactly with the existing façade of the street.
Externally, the house has a typical Edwardian feel to it but internally it is quite a transformation as the house has been designed specifically to the owner’s wishes to ensure that it had a completely modern look. Stainless steel, electric blue colouring and beech timber have been used throughout the property to create a comfortable, yet modern feel. In addition, many built-in features including a piped stereo system, TV and video have been installed throughout the house, together with a built-in vacuum cleaning system, low voltage lighting, etc.
This high quality refurbishment was carried out in approximately 6 months.
