The Present…
Thornsett Group plc, continuing its policy of building-out schemes, will develop a further 300 residential units and associated commercial space in 2006/2007. Our new flagship development at Charterhouse - thesq in London has started, which will comprise 174 apartments (of which 50 are for affordable housing). It will also comprise 60,000 square feet of commercial space, including a state-of-the-art Cancer and Cardiac Research Institute.
In Wales, existing developments will see the completion of more than 80 new homes during 2006, and new developments will provide for the completion of a further 200 homes.
By May 2006, Thornsett Ireland had completed its latest turnkey affordable apartment development in Dublin. This important development was opened by An Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern TD. With a land bank throughout the country capable of delivering nearly 1,000 units of private and local authority housing, the company is now well established as a major developer in the Irish market.
In Belgium, construction work commenced in Spring 2006 on the first development comprising 29 apartments and one retail unit with off-plan sales agreed. Further deals, which will deliver over 125 additional homes, have been agreed and market conditions suggest a very positive future.
